Seriously though Mike is a sports talk radio juggernaut and pioneer. Whats Keith Olbermann? That nerdy dude that had some funny moments on Sportscenter.

Yo lemme explain something to people who aren't from the Tri State area, I've been listening to Mike since he was with Dog and I still listen to him everyday. Theres a reason we call him The Sports Pope. He literally started this sports talk radio game. I used to like Olbermann back when he was on MSNBC but he's too opinionated and over the top for me. The points he made weren't even that good, like the 8 jobs in 5 years things that was just a lil dig from Mike, he's reachin. Lot of y'all in here backin up Olbermann, thats fine I'm riding with the King.

Actuslly I think Raissman hung the sports pope tag on him cause of how condescending he is to allers. Mike will give an opinion and act like it's law, based off the fact "I've been doin dis twenny I've yeahs". It does fit him though, a lot of cats had tried to come at the throne over the years and got shot down. I do think Mike is salty cause he would like a national audience. He's just too New York for the mainstream.
I like Mike and have listened to him for years..but I dont know if he cares about non New York stuff enough to have a national show. Sure, if he had a national show he would focus more on other topics...but between him being such a huge baseball guy and basically only having expertise in NY sports affairs (and he's shaky on BBall), I think he would probably flop nationally. He's better off staying in his niche (albeit a large one) and I think even he knows that.
slim
u gotta understand or remember

I actually think Mike could be a good national broadcaster. His football show on Sundays is national and he's got a ton of football knowledge. He doesn't talk basketball a whole lot but when he does he seems to have a lot of basketball knowledge albeit not a lot of NBA knowledge.
