them stats. Forget the past im talking this year if we get in,anything can happen.Yeah our defense gave up 52,Gotta remember we are at halfway point. If this happened in December I would be worried.Yesterday was a fun game to watch, and we came close.Who knows where we will end up by end of next month but in 2007 and 2011 seasons are defense wasn't good either.
You can't say forget the past when trying to make sense of the present or predict the future. Your squad has fielded some of the worse post-Parcells era teams since that 2011 bowl including this year so far (they've really been an awful group to watch, lets be real) and yet somehow ya'll gonna make some run in a tournament that has the best of the conference in it? With a QB who can do damage in the playoffs but has a devil of a time just getting to the playoffs? With a defense that has zero bite at any of the 3 levels? With a HC & DC who rock matching flat-tops?
The '07 & '11 D may have underachieved for most of those seasons, but there was enough talent at all 3 levels (especially DL) that if they could just get it right, you knew they could be a damn good unit. Not this D, the talent stinks and so does the coaching of it.
And it's funny, we can't use history to talk doom & gloom, but we can use it to big up a team? The game changed since 1990, but it's changed since 2007 as well, and 2011 is gradually becoming a distant memory. Nah homey, there's parallels here between these last 56 games & the 56 after 1990, the main one being ya'll keep fielding badly coached teams that can't get out of their own way. The only difference being that that sorry group had more playoff appearances than this sorry one
