I don't think you're understanding what the word "safest" means.

I'm not arguing that NYC is safe.

But if it had just ONE crime less than every other city than it would still technically be the safest.
But it doesn't...
So you telling me NYC is safer than Boise Idaho or Manchester New Hampshire?
The entire state of Vermont is safer than Nyc lol.

Bu NYC is huge so that somehow means its the safest..
Its just lazy data and research.

More crime bill nonsense and race issue this race issue that.

Universities that are close to the hood or low income areas often times have students robbed at knifepoint.

My alum is basically next to the hood and I would get emails every so often that a student was robbed or attacked off campus at late hours.

The hood near my alum is predominantly Hispanic. Has nothing to do with race, gang activity etc.

Is Manchester even considered a big city?

And yes NYc is safer than Boise. Don’t be jealous

Awful story. RIP to the person who died and hopefully the ones who died have a speedy recovery.

As for the suspect, he's had so much contact with law enforcement 16 arrests going back to 2012 according to Daily Mail that the the city had to know he was mentally ill. They screen mental illness when your booked into jail. My question is does the city need more power to detain the violent mentally ill pending stable place for them to be released? Or is that a worse option than the occasional random killing? Something like that could easily be abused...:patrice:

If they are crazy and homeless, then toss them in a loony bin, those worked great in the 18th century and society was better for it....

Do you know they shut down “loony bins” across America? There really are none anymore.

Most people are sleep on this subject but they really have nowhere to put these people. That’s why you have all the mentally ill just walking the streets.

It goes deep

You see bums on the street and believe they should just go get a job but these people are so off the rails mentally that they will never hold a job.

I could write a 100 page thesis on this but these types of people are out here with nowhere to go
