NYC Brehs, Is The LinkNYC WIFI Station The New Phone Booth For The Homeless ?

Seriously everyday in certain parts of NYC you can’t go nowhere without seeing annoying drug addicts hovering around the stations if someone is trying to charge their phone and annoying them

Always wanting to make a phone call, pissing around the area, getting drunk and hanging around there and falling asleep, shytting around it, ...

Some even mess up the charging stations by being stupid and make them stop working

Everything about these stations just reminds me of how they acted in the decades that we had the phone booth era and look how they fukked that up

Yea I only really see homeless folks using them

I see no issue with providing more access to technology infrastructure to the needy.

It's hard enough to get out from under homelessness as it is, let alone without access to the internet and mobile networks which are basically necessary to find consistent employment these days.

But I suppose some posters believe the homeless just need to pull harder on their own bootstraps
