as someone who claims to have grew up in or around NYC you'd know we have a large Puerto Rican population. they went for the same reason mike bloomberg, deblasio and eric adams went, to shore up political support.
Puerto Rico isnt NYC or New York State. Just like how so many people in here were saying why such and such from other states care about the election or why such candidate is going out the country to promote themselves when they are a public official in such city or state. Just like how candidates going out to Israel looked weird af too. Same logic applies here. You listing three corrupted politicians doesnt help either. You are not understanding, sir. A simple ChatGPT explanation for those not realizing the difference between corporate tax:yes I understand, their NY locations will still pay NY taxes.
Individual restaurants are not their own corporations.
Store locations are generally:
- Not separate corporations
- Not paying their own “corporate tax”
However, they do have to:
- Collect and remit sales tax for that state
- Follow state payroll laws
- Remit state unemployment tax (SUTA)
- Follow local business licensing/fees
Does that clear things up? The entity will relocate to FL and be subject to FL corporate tax, not NY corporate tax. Individual restaurants adhere to local sales tax, etc. but the restaurant locations are not subject to corporate tax. That would mean shyt like Jamaican food trucks would be subject to a corporate tax, which they are not. There is a big difference.
