No, its not a "live" hood and for the most part it is a middle class community of private homes in the ranges of 200-500K. In the early 90s it did have its own moment like any other set of blocks, a large influx of Haitian migrants moved in during the 80s and 90s as well. Everytime I visit Queens village I'm shocked on how nice the community is compared to some areas of the Bronx I roam.
