@Remote it's been so long since you posted an anti-car thread, I had almost forgotten you were a militant bicycle enthusiast. :russ:

There was a time back in 2022 where you and @bnew were competing with loads of articles every week to become thecoli bicycle Czar . :mjlol:
I haven’t even been on my bicycle in 8 months.

It’s not about being a bike enthusiast.

It’s an undeniable fact that having a variety of modes of transportation increases health, quality of life, and even the economics of every city that undertakes it.

A good balance is nice, obviously if you have kids, you're going to shop, travel far etc. you need a car.
They sent people to the moon 60 years ago, they should be able to plan cities to have balance between good public transportation, cars, bikes etc.

I love riding my bike when the weather is nice. the only thing that sucks is if u have to do something like grocery stopping, you're severely limited in how much you can carry.

You know, people with bikes addressed this very problem many times.

There are bikes and bike attachments that make grocery hauling quite easy.

And, more to the point…if you have walkable cities that aren’t plagued by urban sprawl because of dependence on the car, you’re actually quite likely to live closer to a grocery store. That means at least 2 things:

You’re able to shop more frequently, which reduces the need to haul a lot of items at a time.

And you’re more likely to see grocery stores with fresher ingredients because more frequent shoppers reduces the need for preservatives. So you tend to get healthier food.

The propaganda is incredible with this one. :russ:

A bunch of people aimlessly riding CitiBikes on their weekends off, going up and down on Park Avenue — and a content creator wondering why it can't be that way everyday. :mjlol:

Example: When Shane Tamura went up into the NFL's office the on a weekday and Park Avenue was shut down, traffic was a mess everywhere else.

Also ... That underpass they went through at 42 seconds has been closed off to cars for years.

Have you been to or watched videos of Paris in the past 3-4 years?

Please do so. Then come tell us all about “propaganda”

Because it’s transforming that city for the better.
