NYC man whose Rottweiler killed his toddler admits dog is ‘dangerous’

The Brooklyn father who left his kids with a Rottweiler that fatally mauled his 1-year-old son admitted the dog is “dangerous,” according to a criminal court complaint.

Vernon Foster is charged with criminally negligent homicide, manslaughter and acting in a manner injurious to a child for the bloody attack that killed his son Ryan. He was held on $50,000 bail after his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Thursday.

Foster, 30, confessed that he left his two boys, Jayden, 11, and Ryan, 1, alone with their half-brother, Tale, 9, and the dog at his parents’ E. 17 St. home in Flatbush on Tuesday.

Jayden told cops he saw the Rottweiler maul his toddler brother and that he and Tale ran into the street looking for help.

They flagged down a good Samaritan, who ran into the apartment with the children and saw the dog standing over Ryan, according to the court complaint.

The Samaritan — who allegedly brought shovel to fight off the animal — grabbed Ryan and ran out of the apartment, the complaint said. Cops found the boy in the building lobby.

It goes wrong where some people think you must MAKE your dog mean. They don't socialize the dog or let the dog know it's rank in the family.

Your dog automatically knows when to guard the house (if it's in them, not every dog will have that) there's no need to make the dog vicious.
