A lot of the private lines have been sold or shut down. In counties like Essex, Hudson, and Union county though they are a necessity.

People rely on it those buses to get to work, school, church, and the grocery store.
I use to work by JC, the job would give discounted monthly bus tickets for those folks that don't drive. Damn near 50% of the employees used then

They just hit their patrons with a 15% fare hike 2 months ago. There will also be an annual 3% fare increase that, as it stands now, will continue into perpetuity.

That little punk as free week ain't helping the daily or frequent commuters.

My home subway line runs every 4 minutes 7 days a week and has modern subway cars running on it, its a great way to travel around the city. Riding the bus can suck though, hit or miss A/C, unreliable service, etc.

This was cool. I'm in the office 3 days a week. It was good to go to and from the city without having to pay the 12 dollars round trip each day

Heard there was still a delay going into the city from seacaucaus on Thursday tho

Is ok.. this summer going into the city was hit or miss. There was a whole week full of delays because of the wiring between Newark Penn and New York penn. I think that's the reason for this free week cause we'd be delayed sitting on the train for 30 minutes to an hour. Had to take the path a couple times (the convenience of catching the train at Newark Penn instead of the local station)
