NYC one-bedroom rents hit $2,980/month, an all-time high

I'm a and my salary is $plus bonuses which round it out to $... .


My rent is really $2,550 and the rest of that is for utilities.


That's not true in certain New York City areas, I know this because like I said I was once a contractor for a short period of time and I've been inside of these apartments.. it's not the same as your average apartment with basic appliances .

a lot of these new apt buildings and luxury developments around the city arent even half occupied and these greedy snake landlords/developers are refusing to come down on the prices

1675 is still insane im making 96k-110k right now im fixing my credit and plan on being in a house in yonkers/westchester/nyack area. Im a new yorker thru n thru i gotta be close to the city

People that have been in the same apt since the 70's/80's got it good right now. My moms is paying 950 a month for a 3 bedroom 2 bath in harlem in the apt i grew up in and grandparents paying like 500 for their 2 bedroom

I live in bedford park which is not a bad area and the apartment is pretty huge but yea compared to the rest of the country i guess i am losing

Majority of ppl that live in the hood arent paying those 3k prices. I would say anywhere between 700 to 1700 for majority of low income familys in low income neigborhoods
