What are the prices like in the hood?

I'm just assuming these 3000 rent prices in them super duper nice neighborhoods
I've never lived in the hood so i really wouldnt know. Perhaps anohter of the ATL brehs could answer that. As for NY, i dont know since ive never lived there.
Sometimes i joke around and tell my friends i live "in the hood" because one of the 3 exits i can take to get home is kind sketchy. But most people when they make it to the house be looking at me like "That's what you consider hood? GTFOH" :comeon:

Say what you will bout the Midwest( Chicago, STL, Minneapolis e, COLUMBUS, OHIO) but that’s a 4 bedroom duplex mortgage here.

I don’t know how yall nyc brehs do it. nikkas be on IG flexing in NYC paying $1800 for a shoebox :mjlol:
I live in run down Decatur, Illinois, and I am not leavin'. Cost of living to live on a coast in a big city is too fukkin' high.

If I pay 3k in rent, that damn city better let me have my pick of any female, a key to the city, etc

But no place has better pizza or chinese food. You can't get it at 3 am and see Mos Def do spoken word. No other place has what NYC got. So it's worth it.

Damn, you got the perfect set up:ohhh:. Imma look into multifamily then. That's what folks don't realize, side income is king to getting away from the grind.

So should I just live in an apartment until I got 2-3 multifamily homes? Around here I know I could charge about $1000, so 2 family units would bring in $4000. Probably $2000 after mortgage/taxes/insurance
can't give you specific advice, if it's cheaper to buy a duplex and have someone pay half your mortgage vs. what it costs to rent alone, do that. but if you choose to buy a duplex and rent both out, and still rent an apartment, just make sure all expenses for the duplex are covered by their rent and ideally that it brings you a little income. all up to you and what the market is like in your city

Yo, what makes Boston more of an expensive place to live than DC? The Cali cities I get, but Boston? :dwillhuh:

What am I missing here?

Exactly what I came in to post.... Paying that much and all you get is Boston.:bryan:

The rents are high because Boston attracts a lot of high paying jobs and there's a shortage of housing. But still those rents are ridiculous. I keep saying the bubble's gotta burst, but they just keep getting higher and higher :damn:
