I live in bedford park which is not a bad area and the apartment is pretty huge but yea compared to the rest of the country i guess i am losing

But its all good like i said ill be in a house soon enough

Bro you live in the bx. Miss me on the nice area shyt. You not talking to a coli nikka that has never been to nyc. I’ve lived here all my life. Paying 1700 to live in a dam 1 bed room in the Bronx is crazy. My guy you can move to Jersey and save like 800 on rent, you brazy.

The whole of nyc is getting crazy with rent. I can afford to live here but I refuse to pay this crazy rent here when I can live in jersey and save like $5-$600 on rent.

Alot of these luxury aoartments in certain parts of nyc is bullshyt . They change granite and put stainless steel appliances in the apartment and want to charge 1600+ for a studio. All of it is all cosmetic and no real luxury amenities.
Nah, it’s more than that you just make enough or experience appliances and fixtures like that to notice.

In apartment I have heated floors and marble in the bathrooms, Bosch appliances, soft close drawers, rainfall shower head and real hardwood floors and that’s just the little shyt I can remember.

Majority of spots and even houses here don’t have washers and dryers. :hubie:

If you don’t live that life you would never pick it up

My guy Jersey isn’t that cheap unless you plan to live deep in NJ plus with the tolls and car related expenses it won’t be that cheaper

Kinda confused why more people dont migrate to chicago...great city life, scenery and vibe for much cheaper. I get it, im a city guy too, couldnt be happy in some random suburb. But Chicago is a great alternative especially if your northside or downtown...

But Ive talked to some out of towners and its really just an ignorance thing. Chicago is just cold and dangerous to them lol

But hey i get NY, its great if you understand why its great. But Chicago man...dont sleep on it. This is coming from a guy from cali

Other than the brutal cold in the winter, this is the truth. I love visiting Chicago, especially in the Spring/Summer time. Actually shocked it took someone this long to bring up Chicago. City shyts all over the NYC over-hyped cesspool.

im paying 900, im considering saying fukk a house and just investing all my money. landlord has shown no interest in raising the rent on me, she's in another state :dead:

every condo i've looked at, even if i somehow bought the fukking thing in cash id STILL have to pay at least 500 a month for taxes and condo fees, which is the same services you "get" with a rent payment anyway
So you ended up backing out of that deal?

Yo, what makes Boston more of an expensive place to live than DC? The Cali cities I get, but Boston? :dwillhuh:

What am I missing here?

Very good job market (pharma/medicine, research, tech, finance, law, consulting etc), well educated city (Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Brandeis, BU, BC, UMass), rich history and a lot of "old money".
