Economic slavery and financial servitude,

Urbanization has been a gigantic mistake for humanity; it makes slaves out of the masses and people held hostage to authority and their policy decision/making which can easily be corrupted.

Yo, what makes Boston more of an expensive place to live than DC? The Cali cities I get, but Boston? :dwillhuh:

What am I missing here?
They’ve got three colleges that produce thousands of six-figure earning 22 year olds each year. Tech, law, finance, consulting, medicine, etc are all big there, and it’s a dense-ass metropolitan area.

Well I'm paying under $1400 for a big 1 bedroom in the Bx :manny:

But hopefully a lot of these transplants & hipsters run the fukk out.

This. I’m in the same boat and I’m good.

In 3 years people will be taking field trips to the BX to see what shyt used to be like and feel some type of way. Paying damn near $3gz for a 1br spot is insane, and I don’t care what city it is.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Every time I read articles like this I’m proud my mom and dad pay $1400 for a large 3 bedroom apartment with a separate kitchen and bathroom with a separate bath tub and shower and a large living room in a very safe and nice area.

Told my parents to not leave the apartment. Probably going to take over the lease and save my bread and buy something in SouthEast Queens.

Those are Manhattan prices and I think most people have roommates too. Living in Manhattan is absurdly overrated.

Maybe. Some reporters make the mistake of reporting manhattans numbers and title it NYC.

These numbers def aren’t a reality in The Bronx, Staten and many parts of Brooklyn and Eastern Queens.

I don't even understand who these apartments are for. Even cacs are moving in with like six other people. I can't wait for this shyt to crash again.

The reality is the high rents in NYC aren’t expensive to the people who can afford them. When I used to do Uber I picked up a lady from Long Island City and she told me that her $3500 a month rent was cheap and “affordable”.

Makes sense because most of those high end apartments have restrictions.

So an average black man whose middle class or working class probably wouldn’t qualify for them anyway.

Breh, I used to work with this lady paying $3k a month with her husband for a damn studio! It was near PACE university, across from city hall.
