Breh, I used to work with this lady paying $3k a month with her husband for a damn studio! It was near PACE university, across from city hall.
In reality there is no such thing as expensive rent.
Rent only becomes expensive if it’s a burden on your monthly finances.
Yea that lady is paying 3K a month for a studio but if her and her husband are both making 6 figures or have a high income together than that 3K studio is only worth pennies to them.
The average renter in Manhattan especially in Midtown and Lower Manhattan can afford those rents easily.
I helped a dude who worked for google look for an apartment in Battery Park City and this guy made it seem like 3,000 for a one bedroom was a steal.
Obviously for me I thought he was on crack.

. I lucky found a guesthouse studio for cheap when I had to move to SA for work three years ago. LA/OC rent prices are fukking crazy but these landlords know that they will always be someone willing to pay for it and they keep getting away it. But it's so hard to leave Southern California. You can find whatever you want out here, good and bad
