NYPD Officer KILLED in the line of duty in Harlem, in response to domestic violence call

Two NYPD officers — one a rookie with just over a year on the job — were shot dead while responding to a domestic violence call Friday evening in Harlem, multiple police sources said.

The gunfire erupted around 5:10 p.m. inside an apartment at 119 West 135th Street, as police responded to a domestic violence dispute between a mother and son, sources confirmed.

One of the officers was struck in the face by gunfire, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The suspect was also fatally shot, the sources said.


The NYPD urged residents in a tweet to avoid the area.

Mayor Eric Adams was headed to Harlem Hospital where the injured officers were being treated, his press secretary tweeted.

The unidentified officers are the fourth and fifth members of the NYPD to be injured by gunfire so far in 2022.

One joined in November 2020 and the other in 2018, police records show.

The shooting comes a day after a NYPD detective was shot during a drug bust on Staten Island.

Man this has been a rough month for the NYPD, seems like a bunch of cops have been getting shot in separate incidents this past month alone.


It feels like my city is out of control, mentally ill people murking random ppl for no reason, babies getting hit with strays, cops getting shot, etc. Eric Adams do something!

Domestic Violence calls are among the deadliest calls for cops to respond to.
