If I'm being totally honest this is the only Oddisee track that ever stuck with me
Man, he's got hella joints over the years that'll stick to ya ribs. I can throw together a 7-8 track playlist if you want. Definitely one of my favorite rappers out

He's talented behind the boards just not my usual go to style ....
If you have 2/3 tracks in that style (first step) not off the Diamond District LPs I'll give 'em a spin
I think that's what might be throwing you off about his style, his recent music (past 10yrs or so) and style in general hasn't really been boom bap like First Step. It's more in the vein of his Rock Creek Park instrumental album, think Jazzy Jeff/Pete Rock etc.
Personally I love his production and the content in his music, always thoughtful and impactful for me at different points in my life over the past 16 years. I've made a bunch of posts about his music on here over the years
