Odell Beckham left Giants practice on Sunday after appearing to injure his lower left leg on a collision with cornerback Janoris Jenkins, while Victor Cruz - hopeful to stay healthy after missing almost two full seasons due to injury - also stopped working in drills midway through the session.
Beckham and Jenkins collided battling for a deep pass from Eli Manning. Their legs got tangled as they hit the turf. Jenkins immediately got up, but Beckham was slow to rise and when he did, he hobbled gingerly out of the back of the end zone and laid down for several minutes to let a team of trainers examine him.
Beckham eventually rose to his feet and walked back onto the field, but he did not participate in another drill. He knelt on the turf and tried to stretch out, but it was no use, and he walked out of the Quest Diagnostics Training Center bubble and departed practice entirely around 12:05 or 12:10.
Cruz remained in the building but curiously, even before Beckham went down, Cruz basically stopped all of his on-field work.
Cruz sat out the Giants' many 11-on-11 sets as first, second and third-string units all took turns. Second-year wideout Geremy Davis ran out wide with Beckham on the outside - prior to his injury - and rookie Sterling Shepard in the slot.
