A Clayton County, Georgia, police officer has been arrested and placed on administrative leave following a road rage incident where he allegedly tailgated a woman in her car before following her into a parking lot, where he called her a “low life piece of [expletive] n*gger,” and then spit on her.

Police officer Thomas Sheats faces charges of simple battery, simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to WSB-TV.

According to police, Sheats tailgated a car driven by Michele Griffith, 27, for miles, blowing his horn, swerving from side to side, and bumping her vehicle from behind with his truck.

Griffith said that after she pulled into a parking lot, where she was going to get pizza, Sheats approached her car screaming at her

“‘Why the [expletive] you going 35 miles per hour on a 45 mile per hour road’,” Griffith said Sheats yelled at her.

After telling him that he could have gone around her, the off-duty police officer exploded in anger.

“‘I couldn’t pass, you low life piece of [expletive] n*gger’ … and (he) spit on me,” Griffith said.

According to Griffith , Sheats was screaming so loud that patrons came out of some of the stores and attempted to block his truck in until police arrived. Witnesses told police they heard Sheats cursing and using the n-word, and one witness saw him spit on the woman.

Sheats, who was not in uniform at the time of the incident, got back into his truck and drove away but not before witnesses wrote down his license plate number and snapped pictures of his truck.

Tristan ****, who works at the pizza parlor saw the whole incident.

“He was in her face the entire time,” **** told WSB. “It was wrong, everything he did was wrong, in my opinion.”

WSB reports that Sheats was arrested two years ago for domestic violence, and is now on unpaid administrative leave while Internal Affairs investigates the incident.

What? This shyt is fukked up, and way worse than most of the things the PC police cry over. But overall stories like this get lost in a sea of other non stories. I might have poorly worded what I was trying to say. Im not saying the story itself loses significance, Im saying it wont be as big of a deal in the overall media narrative as it should be

Thought you were attempting to downplay Anthony's racial tyriad. But this story probably won't get the media attention it deserves and the case will be swept under the rug...

No I was putting Anthony in the "actually bad" category. That story is really interesting because it exposes something that has always been an American issue, which is the idea that we worship free markets when they don't infringe on keeping the negro down. I observed many people online saying that it was Anthony's right to say what he said, that he should not lose his private sector job for his beliefs. Now, that is something I agree with - people have a right to their opinion. But it wasn't his free speech that got him fired, rather it was the free market reacting to say fukk that scumbag we will cancel our subscriptions if he is not fired.

I think a good comparison is this story of the woman being assaulted by the off duty cop vs the racist woman on Cheektowaga. This story in the op is an example of assault and misconduct by a public official, while the Cheektowaga story is one of a random person being an a$$hole. Unfortunately the media/PC police put them in the same category which I feel downplays stories like the one this thread is about.
