I used to live in that shyt hole.

This guy won the mayor race twice against this sista:

Made me sick. He won by 260 votes the first time and 203 votes the second. Low voter turnout in both. Fayetteville is over 40% black. If nikkaz got out and voted she would have been in office.

Glad the brotha got in though. Congrats to him.

I'd send him a congratulatory letter letting him know you were one of the 34. You never know, you might need a judge one day or someone who knows the judge. :sas2:
There's really no reason for voting day to not be a holiday or weekend though. I legitimately got out of work after the polls had closed. All the races in my area were done deals though.

I've missed votes in the past thinking I'd be able to go on my break only to come in get bogged down on a case and end up at work past the hours polls are open.

We have so many days off for random holidays that merely show a gesture you would think election day would get the same treatment.

It's almost like people with power don't want high voter turnout.
