Welp, can focus on the Raps like I usually do. Haven't watched a full game yet. Maybe I'll watch yesterdays masterclass from JAMISON BATTLE

Leafs blown 4-1 game 7 against Boston was WOAT to me. This probably surpassed it knowing we had Bassit, Trey and Hoffman to close it out.
Every time I envisioned how this ended, it was impossible to imagine us losing after all this. We were supposed to win. We were actually the good guys in the story. This season was a dream movie until tonight. All season long, We looked like a team of destiny making history and doing all the things that people thought were impossible on this run, only to lose in the worst way possible. Santander was injured, in serious pain during the ALCS and was done for the year . Same thing for Berrios, he got injured late in the year and was done for the season. Springer, Clement and Bichette were walking wounded for most of the second half of the season including the playoffs . I feel so bad for manager John Schneider and every player on the roster, they played well but it was not enough. And I just had a bad feeling about this last at-bat, I just knew Barger would ground out into a series ending double play. My worst fears were sadly confirmed smh.

Baseball is probably the most cruel sport to lose a championship in. Baseball playoff losses are worse than playoff losses in any other sport in my opinion. Maybe I have Recency bias because of how this series ended, but that’s what I think right now. My hot takes.

This is biggest Toronto sports heartbreak in my lifetime and it’s not even close. To be that close to the World Series championship but lose at the end in that way is so painful. So close to heaven but instead rejected at the last minute and sent to hell forever . We had so many opportunities to win the chip but we just couldn’t get the breaks tonight.

No Leafs or Raptors loss ever hurt me like this one tonight. No game 7s Leafs loss in the last decade ever come close to this one. Not even one. No raptors loss either ( the game 7 loss to Brooklyn at home in 2014 , then Lebron James and the Cavs domination over us in the Lebronto era during three straight playoffs from 2016 to 2018, the game 7 loss to the Celtics in the Covid 2020 bubble playoffs) the pain of losing game 7 loss of the WS at home will last forever and will always haunt until I die.

the reason why this is like a one time thing to me is teams never saw yesavage stuff before, now they have the whole offseason to see how he pitches etc. so he'll prob wont be as effective next year.

Bieber is a free agent, bassist fa, scherzer fa prob all gone

bichette a fa and he can sign anywhere

bullpen guys are like college kickers one year they are good next they are azz

can you rely on these minor league guys like lukes, clement again?

springer is turning 37 he had a fountain of youth yeaer, will bprob go back to like a .230 avg

That’s what i was telling my friends

Lot of these guys are going to be the hunted next year. Dudes like clement and barger, are going to have to work that much harder.

Springer may regress
Pitching staff will need to be rebuilt

What I’m say is this the worst sports defeat I’ve seen since Ghana lost to Uruguay

i agree
there were so many opportunities

that pages catch that ish looked like it was DONE what are the odds he catches that, or that they dont bump into each other

that throw to the plate if IKF was off the bag more or will smith never put the foot down

2 outs to go and that pitch to the 9th hitter :snoop:

what killed the jays is RISP

jays had 0 guys with 100rbis and it burned us

remember aaron hill? 36 home runs 108 rbis .286 avg? next season batted .205

you see it all the time in baseball, just like nfl how folks were talking about jayden daniels etc. last year, cj stroud the year before but once teams see the tape and adjust well
