Just sucks.

Our four losses are:
2 Yamamoto gems(game 2 and game 6)
5-4 in 18 innings in game 3
5-4 in game 7 in the 11th inning

We Outscored them in the series, our run differential was better too. +9 and we lost the WS.

Look where IKF is here? Such poor awareness on the bases

If they could’ve just hit one deep sacrifice fly deep and hard into the outfield in the 9th, when they had bases loaded, jays would have won the World Series. We would have been celebrating on younger street instead of being heartbroken, bitter, angry, mad and sad. We would have been loudly and proudly cheering the triumph of our team, smiling ear to ear, with our hearts full of love and joy, and peacefully wilding out in the streets of downtown Toronto instead of grieving because we knew our team wasted once in a lifetime opportunity that might never come again in their careers or in our lives. Our Last World series appearance was literally 32 years ago. We night never see our jays win the AL pennant and comeback to play in the World Series again for the rest of our existences on earth. knowing how fickle, capricious, unpredictable, and random the sport of baseball is, the blue jays next year might have another disappointing, frustrating and inconsistent, having half the active roster injured, then finish third in the AL East and miss the playoffs again

If they could’ve only hit sacrifice fly deep and hard into the outfield in the 11th, they would’ve tied thr game at 5-5 and would’ve continued to bat.

Man I’m crying right now. I’m in tears breh. When you care about your team that much, It’s so easy to be depressed. We witnessed our team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory tonight. You can’t get over this and forget tonight’s loss easily like that. It was a Painful moment . We collectively went from exciting and joyful anticipation to brutal and heartbreaking depression between 3 innings of play. (9th to 11th)

baseball/World Series finalists hangover is so brutal

Yeah man. So close in the 9th with the foot just touching the plate.

you just don't recover from a stunning and painful loss like this. It would be one thing if we got swept or lost in 5, it’s literally quite another thing to have it in your grasp in the 9th and lose it like this

Remember the Texas Rangers back in 2011? That was a legit great team that had a similar meltdown in Game 6 in the 9th inning, then meekly went out in Game 7. They regressed and became the Jays punching bag in 15 and 16 playoffs before eventually winning it all in 2023 with a completely different GM, manager, core and team.

I repeat, There is absolutely no chance we get back here with this core. We won’t sign everyone back for sure.

Veterans like Scherzer, Gausman, Bieber, Bassitt, Berrios, and Springer are all already in their mid-early to mid 30s or older, and a few among them are free agents this winter. Most of them will decline the contract offers from Atkins and Shapiro

Bo is a free agent and likely gone to another team this winter . Clement, IKF, Barger, and Lukes are utility players who got hot for a few months . Theres a good probability that they might regress next year.

This was a cinderella run and literally as soon as midnight came, we were brought back to reality and lost. Breh this hurts so much

You don’t recover from this
Rather get swept

Crazy seeing grown men cry at the bar tonight
If we lost in a quick four game sweep or in five games, and the dodgers completely crushed and dominated us in every game of the WS, I would have just shrugged and moved on. I would quietly accept the outcome, the results and be at peace with it, and I would be like they deserved to win anyway and we couldn’t match them in execution or talent at all. But this WS championship series, how close it was, how close we were to a title, all the bad luck and breaks against us etc

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory Breh, that's what's so frustrating about the loss tonight. The win was literally in their hands if they just played better fundamental baseball. Better situational awareness on the base paths, better decisions about which pitches to swing at, better roster usage from the manager, better pitch judgment/awareness and discipline at the plate, more efficient management and usage of pitchers/relievers, better execution when you needed to do certain things (ie. move runners over, make contact, put the ball in the air, et.).

It wouldn't be as frustrating if the Dodgers just completely dominated the Jays from the start. It's so disappointing because it seems like the Jays just failed to do the most rudimentary things too often this series in close games when they had the chance to put up runs.

I’m still in tears hours after the games ended, I’m emotionally devastated, I try to find silver linings and coping mechanisms because it hurts so much, and I’m a grown adult btw . :mjcry: :to: ::sadbron::sadcam:

Now Imagine how kids and teenagers are feeling tonight. It’s their first, real, pure taste of heartbreak as a sports fan. At their age, every event, memory, or moment affects you and hits you much more harder than in adulthood

Tonight’s loss will always haunt me man for all the worst reasons. I don’t think I will ever recover from it and get over it.

I had trouble sleeping last night because all I can think about was all the chances we had to win that game. It's just so hard in baseball to win it all and it was right there for the taking. I just hope our management is ruthless and strengthen our bullpen, make tough decision on rotation, re-sign bo, and decide if you value defense or production at bat. Varsho is a gold glover, but his game 6 & 7 were inexcusable, and why the heck was he batting ahead of Ernie. I have no clue why Schneider didn't make any changes because if we reshuffle our bat order we win the WS. Ernie being the hot hand probably should've moved up to the 2 hole

They had chance after chance. This was a really bad loss tbh. Not a single reliever did their job man

Thing is you got to have some production later in the line up too . Varsho was very disappointing offensively

Lukes didn’t contribute all series. Not even defensively lol

Lukes over Schneider didn't make any sense. Feels like you had to reward Schneider after he hit that opening home run.

Agreed it would've been a tough gamble to be front loaded, but it just feels with stranded batters we would be in a much better spot if we shuffled the lineup for 6 & 7. We just left way too many stranded and you don't win titles if you don't get some insurance runs. Hoffman has been shaky for parts of the season, and I don't even fully put it on him because you have to convert those runs and we didn't. I just hope management is ruthless and get us a damn closer because I feel closer spot is always tough for the Jays to find the guy. It really does feel that spot is curse because there's always something

I think the only thing we can hope for is management being aggressive to retool this roster.

I honestly don’t think being aggressive will make a difference unless they land skubal in a trade or some shyt

Yankees were aggressive and look at them

Yanks added Devin Williams (elite closer), David Bednar, Max Fried (elite, championship winning starter), Paul Goldschmidt (all star first baseman) and cody bellinger (championship player, once elite)

And look? We bodied them

Jays will need a miracle to be back
Baseball is just too random
