With all the talk about depth, having a great bullpen, contact hitting, base running, always working the pitch count, getting runners on bases, small ball, situational baseball, etc

Finally the dodgers won game 7 and the World Series Championship because of elite starting pitching( Yoshinobu Yamamoto, literally the new Madison bumgartner of this decade so far ) and the long ball( homeruns). Los Angeles last 3 runs were solo homers from clutch swings . Max Muncy in the top of the 8th ,Miguel Rojas in the top of the 9th and Will Smith in the top of the 11th.

Kazuma Okamoto lets get a damn japanese player
pay that gwap for posting

Agree, I'd try to get him along with Imai
When was the last time the Jays signed a Japanese player? I can only remember of munenori Kawasaki and Yusei Kikuchi. Except for them, we never had players from Japan on our rosters. And the only mlb teams in recent memory/history in the east coast or Al East teams who managed to sign Japanese players are the Yankees (hideki matsui) and Red Sox (masataka yoshida)

It seems like Japanese players prefer to play for western and west coast teams( doesn’t matter if it’s national or American League) and live in western/west coast cities. Maybe because it’s closer to Japan?

Los Angeles Angels( Kikuchi, Ohtani)
LA dodgers( Yamamoto, Ohtani)
Seattle mariners(ichiro Suzuki),

SF giants :Masanori Murakami - Wikipedia

Texas rangers/Los Angeles Dodgers/San Diego Padres: Yu darvish

Same pattern when it comes to Korean players. They all played on western/west coast teams.Chan Ho Park, Shin-so choo, Ji-man Choi, hyesoeong Kim, byung-Hyung Kim etc. Only Korean player the jays ever signed was hyun-Jin Ryu. @trick @MikelArteta @jdubnyce

Maybe we'll be the Royals. Team with a long record of losing, puts together a roster with no megastars but lots of good players who find chemistry. Ned Yost at the helm - similar to Schneider, inept tactically and strategically, mediocre when it comes to in-game management and making adjustments, but seemingly good at bringing a group together.

They went to the WS in 2014 ( it was their first World Series appearance since 1985) but lost in 7 to Madison Baumgartner in a similar fashion to us with Yamamoto. Then won the whole thing in 2015 after beating our stacked Blue Jays team and getting a little break with an easier opponent in the WS by beating the Mets in 5 games.

We need to add a Jerrod Dyson. A guy who doesn't really do much througout the season, but when you desperately need an elite runner to score that winning run, he's there for you. Much more useful than carrying guys like Kiner-Falefa, Ty France or Joey Loperfido or Brendan Little on your bench in the playoffs.

And these are the guys you dont expect to beat you :sadcam:
I expected Max muncy and will smith to hurt us with their bats

I never expected their #9 batter, second baseman Miguel Rojas to do it

Before he came to the plate to bat in the top of the 9th inning in game 7, Miguel Rojas played 1296 career regular season games in his career: Total number of home runs???? 57.

He played 21 career playoff games in his career: Total number of Home runs???? 2.

Then Miguel f***ijng Rojas who hadn't had a hit in a calendar month suddenly hit a game tying blast. On a full pitch count( 3 balls, 2 strikes) He hit that game tying homerun

And he also made a great defensive play in the infield when he got the varsho grounding ball and threw it to catcher will smith (again ) to get Kiner-Falefa out at the plate in the bottom of the 9th inning in game 7. So he killed us both in offense and on defense.
