So uhhh...Heyman on Bleacher Report tonight

- Jays are favourites on Kyle Tucker

- He also expects Bo Bichette back in Toronto, but says the market for Bo "isn't moving much".

Which might be Bo trying to get paid as a shorty, with no one wanting him as a shorty.

- Suggested to not be surprised if we end up ~600 million deep on both of them.

Just cue up the Imperial March and stand by. This will be our year, we won’t be denied in 2026.

There's a non-zero chance Ed Rogers, after personally helping negotiate Vlad's mega extension and then watching the generational playoff run that followed decided "you know, i kinda like this! We should do it more often."

We won't know until the offseason is truly done and settled but if this is where it's going? That should scare the absolute shyt out of the rest of baseball. Rogers is essentially a sleeping giant in baseball economics and could easily take over the league if they wanted to.

I don't think it goes THAT far, but maybe a "let's sign Bo and Tucker" scenario isn't as crazy as i once thought.

Ed Rogers should take more risks, think big, be more ambitious and be more willing to spend. He can afford it unlike Bob Nutting in Pittsburgh for example. I hope he realizes his power and has a long term vision when it comes to the future of this team. Let the Blue Jays become the new evil empire for once.

But there’s a big problem.

All those other high end MLB clubs are owned privately by a person or group of people. Rogers is a publicly traded company. Ed Rogers is the face, but he is not the sole decision maker.

It is a vastly different animal for Steve Cohen to decide to just spend buckets of money on the Mets roster because he's beholden to no one than it is for Rogers to do so when they have to answer to their shareholders who will in large part not give a single damn about baseball if it cuts into their dividends.

And yes, the Rogers trust holds the majority of shares in the company which, somewhat indirectly, gives the Rogers family control over the direction that the company takes with its decisions. But they still have to make decisions with regard for the shareholders over funneling money into a risky investment/hobby like baseball.

Now does that mean they can't spend more? Of course not. The Vlad and Cease contracts show that they can and will. It just means that it's not as cut and dry as "Rogers is the second biggest owner in baseball, there's no reason they can't just outspend everyone if they feel like it."

And because this often comes up when I make this statement : This is not me carrying water for billionaires or suggesting that the team can, will, or should be cheap. It's just recognizing the reality of the situation and advising adjusting expectations accordingly.

The Blue Jays are eating the Yankees' lunch.
This is crazy to see.

I'm not entirely sure that George Springer remains as good as he was in 2025, but Toronto signing Cease and maybe getting Tucker would be huge.
If Barger has a full season OPSing .800, watch out.

The Bo part makes sense because while he's a good hitter he's still suspect on defence imo. I don't think teams are willing to spend the money or provide the cover that we do for him. This will be the dream offseason if we pull this off. I assume Berrios gets traded
