For me it came down to ansah and eifert. Don't know when Miller will be back from his knee injury which leaves us with paulson/pope/spaeth at TE and we need all the weapons we can get on offense. Worilds is still to me somewhat of a question mark at ROLB. He looked better in relief at LOLB rather than when he lined up on the right side in place of harrison. I think they'll address OLB in later rounds and I guess I'll say Eifert is the pick at 17 with Pitt addressing other needs later on :yeshrug:

to be honest with the players i really wanted off the board, i would trade down and get another 2nd round pick and go from there...

none of those players available really move me. maybe if we had gotten that extra 3rd from the pats for sanders i'd feel comfortable but we been fukking up in these drafts for the last few years so i'd rather collect an extra pick and try to make up for our recent misses especially given all of our holes on both sides of the line...but that's just how i feel. :yeshrug:

What a crazy turn of events regarding Sanders. I was honestly 60/40 in favor of the draft pick. The only thing that kept me from wanting the pick was the fact that people were saying we'd then go WR in the 1st rd which I'm against. We know what Sanders can do, he is a great 2nd WR. It's just he's so inconsistent when it comes to health. With him signed, we still might lose him later. The F.O. better have some insight on this cause if he walks, I'm going to be pissed.

So that leaves us with RB, TE, LB as what I see as 1st round grade needs. Not feeling Safety like others until round 3.

Im not one to invest a 1st rounder to sit on the bench, so safety is out. I'm still partial on wasting a 1st rounder on a TE who wont be starting in 2014. I eye RB as a need more than most and given our cap situation with the signing of Sanders(We cant afford Bradshaw until June if he wants to wait) this can become an issue. Our Oline is young and we are probably going ignore that position rounds 1-4.

If we can't get Mingo or Jones at OLB then we should wait until round 2. I'm honestly in this situation looking at ILB. Nobodys stock has plummeted since January 1st like Manti Te'o. He just wasn't coming off blocks right in the BCS Championship and just looked like a spectator. Despite his other obvious off the field issue, I wouldn't be angry at this pick. But it's not going to happen, more so because the best ILB would still be on the board. Alec Ogletree is tall, lean, fast, strong and can also double up at OLB like Timmons. We need a new leader at ILB and he might just be it.

Based on this draft board I'm rolling with Ogletree

I think our O-Line is okay, the re-signing of Sanders helped our WR corp.

With a 1st Round pick, if we're not going to make any trades, then I strongly suggest it'd be a defensive pick. Key positions such as LB, DT & S need to be addressed. I'd say Ansah’. Two Ziggys & two 1st Round picks lol.

Let's hope they both start to turnup

I was 50/50 with the Sanders thing, but it does allow us to refocus our draft. Especially since the extra pick would have been basically a early 4th round talent.

We have to pick up a quick pass rusher or an ILB in the first 3 rounds. Those are easiest or biggest concerns on defense, and they are probably going to go fast this draft.

However, this draft is pretty solid in terms of WR's and RB's in rounds 2-4, so there is no need to rush and pick up a rcv'r, esp now with Manny back in the fold. I am leaning towards Eifert in the first, as a dependable hands rcv'r and RZ threat. Then the next two rounds would be dedicated to defense, then going with a RB in the 4th and rolling the dice with WR's in the latter rounds.
