Those problems are the reason why battle of the b*stards and hardhome are much better episodes. They tossed logic out the window in exchange for spectacle. I still enjoyedit but it pales in comparison to the other battles they have had, even Blackwater before they had a great budget.

If fan theories not panning out was enough to get people to turn on the show, nobody would've watched past season 1. Because nobody (except book readers) expected Ned to die.
There's literally dozens of examples of this in the series. The Red Wedding, Oberon dying, Tywin dying, etc.
The foundation of the whole series is subverting fan expectations. There's two ways to do that though....with great writing, or with lazy writing. Sunday's episode was the latter.
I mean....let's keep it real here. They threw 7 seasons worth of lore in the bushes in favor of an action sequence....if your major takeaway from that is "fans are upset because they had theories and expectations"....that's an unprecedented level of stanning.

.....I had friends in real life telling me they were done with the show after ned died and after the red wedding. And guess what?....they all came back. Just like everybody in here bytching will come back this Sunday....... they said winter winter was coming. They promised us the battle with the white walkers. and we got both. I'm good with that. I never thought the Night King was some GOAT villain like that. He was always just some dude who knew how to control the dead and wanted to kill the living. I never took him for more.......but I do believe there's something coming we don't expect at all. Something dark. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. But nonetheless, I still enjoyed the fukk out of episode 3. Plot holes and all. Same as I did BB

And did I say breaking bad didn't have great writers?.....no. I said breaking bad had just as much bullshyt as thrones does. And if you can't admit that, then you're a stan yourself. There's gonna be plot holes in every show if you break down every single scene. Especially when you're dealing with fantasy(GOT and BB)......neither of these shows are logical in the slightest sense.
And on top of that, we still have THREE episodes left. For all we know there's something even worse waiting for them than the white walkers. Maybe something the white walkers are directly connected to. shyt, maybe the NK's plan was to make the north believe they won and come back with something crazier. I have no idea and I'm not gonna sit around coming up with theories like yall did for the past 8 years. Cause then I'ma be sitting here crying when shyt doesn't happen like I thought

Great show but definitely nowhere near the wire. I'll say that much.
