How many networks has this passed through before it finally got to P+?

Paramount Plus has released the first trailer for the live-action “Halo” series. The show is expected to debut on the streamer in 2022.

Pablo Schreiber stars as the iconic Master Chief from the long-running and beloved Xbox video game series. In the teaser, he suits up in his instantly recognizable armor and puts on his green helmet, as the AI Cortana greets him. “Hello, Master Chief,” she says.

Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is a super soldier created as part of the Spartan–II program, as seen in the “Halo” game series. The live-action series will follow an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.

Natascha McElhone will play Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of the Spartan soldiers. Jen Taylor will reprise her role from the games as Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history. Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, Olive Gray, and Charlie Murphy will also star.

i thought this was supposed to be out years ago...:what:
Sthey were trying to get a movie out in the middle to late 2000s. This feels wayyyyy too late. But I'm over videogames so maybe it's still popular. Feels like flabby IP to me though

The game is about to come out next month it’ll probably break records. Halo is far from flabby.

Movie was in development hell. Peter Jackson was rumored to be attached at one point. They definitely got the armor right. This could be excellent if they just spend a ton of money on it and follow the story :pachaha:

Halo is not flabby at all... still a top video game franchise

It has the possibility to be good, but I feel Halo would work better as a movie. Master Chief, the character would be kinda boring after even a few episodes and the universe is way to complex to even be interesting to a broad audience.

Halo would have made a really good si-fi big budget action film in the 90s, but in today's, "universe" world everything has to be a franchise to maximize profit. I rather them wait another decade or two until that type of movie making returns.

At this point I doubt they can pull it off and would only cheapen the name, Halo.

Imagine Halo 2 as a tv show, the earth scenes would eat up half the budget alone, with the rest of the season taking place inside a hanger bay with just talking and a hallway shoot out.

Pretty sure he was a major producer on it and then when he was like Neil Blomkamp is the director - not me - the project started losing support. There's also the fact Microsoft didn't know how to play the Hollywood game.
