For what? There is no excitement around impeachment except from upset liberals who were going to push for impeachment even if Trump was found completely innocent.
The Russia thread should be unstickied and both Russia threads closed. Because it's over. This whole thing is a wash. And that includes trying to get his tax returns. His plan of running out the clock is working. We just have to vote him out and tell young people not to stay at home in 2020 just because the person they like isnt on the ballot.

1. He wasn't found completely innocent and its far from over. That's why there are still active investigations spun off from the Mueller probe(which was pretty narrow in scope).
2. You seem to think impeachment proceedings are strictly about removing Trump from office. That's a goal, but most realize its not realistic. What is realistic is upholding Congressional powers and working the courts to force the executive branch to comply with norms and rules. If they are going to stonewall, you can't just give up. You keep finding ways to force their hand.
I think its a great strategy. You can do many things at once. There's more than enough bandwidth for the House to work on re-election efforts and investigations.

You think those investigations are going to lead anywhere with Barr as AG? Barr is there to make sure indictments do not happen to the Trump family. Those investigations aren't going anywhere. Again, its a wash.
Who really cares when Trump can simply ignore the courts, including the Supreme Court and nothing will happen to him? And then Republicans will run a public relations campaign saying Democrats are trying to throw Trump out of office and it will work.
You think Barr is going to be there forever? You'd have to assume that Barr shuts down all of the federal and state investigations into Trump within the next 1.5 years which would be next to impossible. They aren't in a rush to indict him in office.
That's huge part of impeachment, to put pressure on the courts. That's why this entire thing is taking so long. If you don't have the evidence in hand, you can't hope to pass any type of judgement to affect change on the executive branch.
I can understand being cynical but breh, there are upsides to this. Not everything is going to end up bad. Taking action is important.

Trump doesn't have to listen to the courts while he's in office. There are no consequences he has to face.
