It's 2:30 am where I'm at now too. The fact that you keep trying to sling insults shows how weak your argument is. I work for myself. I've worked my ass off to be able to afford my own schedule. Your parents should have taught you that. Anyway, you started this by claiming "Biden failed to deliver on his promise to forgive student loan debt." But now that you've been reminded of who actually sued to block broad forgiveness, you've got nothing, so you're flailing to avoid owning your false claim.

I've *recognized and criticized* Biden's role in the 2005 Bankruptcy Act, but that's not the argument here. The argument is: who's responsible for killing broad forgiveness, and who delivered relief despite it. You still haven't answered that, because you can't.

So here's the gauntlet: either engage with reality or just admit you were never serious about debt relief. You don't really have to do this, because we both know how embarrassingly unserious you are as a person. You just needed an excuse to deflect from the fact that the people you supported are the reason the broader plan didn't happen.

Don't act like a bytch now, you came in first with the insults. Let me send you some Prevagen to help with your memory.

Like I said yesterday, Biden failed to deliver on his promise to forgive student loan debt, and it is true. When Biden first came into office, he talked about forgiving student loan debt. Biden had control of the house and senate for 2 years and did not move on his promise to forgive student loan debt. He switched up his initial promises for canceling student loan debt and waited until the last minute to move on his failed promises:

How am I not serious about debt relief? I graduated with a degree in biology, minor in chemistry.

You just want to push a narrative. Citing Briahna Joy Gray's dishonest ass proves this. If he didn't act on his promise, then what were the GOP suing to stop?

He announced a broad student debt forgiveness plan in August 2022, while still in office with a Democratic House and Senate. The plan would have canceled up to $20,000 in student debt for tens of millions of borrowers. It wasn't "last minute." The applications opened in October of the same year.

He didn't "switch up" the promise, either; he used the HEROES Act, the same legal authority Trump used to pause loan payments, as the basis for cancellation.
Now, here' what you want to ignore: Republican attorney generals from red states sued to block it, and a right-wing Supreme Court struck it down in June 2023. That's the *only* reason *that* broader cancellation didn't go through. But they pivoted, and ended up canceling (over 5m) through existing legal pathways, despite all the obstruction.

So no, the issue wasn't delay or a broken promise. The issue was a well-organized Republican effort to kill relief in the courts, and it succeeded. I don't know why people try to ignore how this country works, and that there is a pus and pull force behind almost every decision. And that was no different here.

And having student debt doesn't automatically make you serious about relief, your actions and arguments do. And yours consistently help the very same people who sued to stop it, lied about it, and promised to reverse it. You support the sabotage then pretend to care when it is successful. You're a bad actor. Your motivations override your reason.

I highly doubt a 2x Harvard graduate and Democrat, Briahna Joy Gray, would be fraudulent in her speech. Briahna is correct when she said Joe Biden did not keep his promise when he induced voters to the poll in 2020:

Here is an article from 2020, Biden's spoke about his student debt plan at a town hall in Miami to persuade voters to the poll:

Biden Affirms: “I Will Eliminate Your Student Debt”

By Adam S. Minsky, Senior Contributor. Adam Minsky is an attorney and writer focusing on student loans.
Oct 07, 2020, 12:59pm EDT

Biden also said, “I’m going to make sure everyone gets $10,000 knocked off of their student debt”

Under his plan, Biden would forgive all undergraduate federal student loan debt for borrowers with annual incomes under $125,000 who attended public colleges and universities, as well as historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and private minority-serving institutions (MSIs).

Via: Biden Affirms: “I Will Eliminate Your Student Debt”

Like I said, Biden failed to deliver on his promise, and Biden had control of the house and senate for 2 years and did not move on his promise to forgive student loan debt. Biden pulled the bait and switch to get voters to the poll in 2020.

I graduated from an HBCU. It would have been nice if Biden kept his promise, be he did not.

Yeah I went to Grambling. I would like to get my MS or PHD, but I don't have the time right now.

This is you right here:

The fact that Trump is literally doing the absolute best to ruin the economy and y’all STILL trying to blame the last guy means we’re absolutely cooked.

@groove_sdc
Bro I probably have more student loan debt than anybody on this thread.

You think I don’t wanna believe Biden could’ve just wiped it all away?

Unfortunately that was never the reality.

If I knew the truth back then … you should’ve too.

@groove_sdc
And please STFU about “why do you expect me to pay your loans back?”

bytch you don’t even wash your ass half the time.

But you expect me to believe you got half on my student loan payments?

Please go pour tea in your glass of Splenda.

Trump is really bad at this.

And so are you when it comes to picking Presidents if you voted for him.

And that goes double if you didn’t vote or voted third party.

It’s pretty clear that’s his intention too.

IMF: Trump tariffs are crashing world economy, with US worst off

@groove_sdc
Excellent work guys. You took an issue, demagogued the shyt out of it and now Republicans not only blocked student aid relief but they’re causing a recession WHILE going after people in student loan debt.

Just fantastic sabotage. Punched yourself right in the dikk.

Bravo.

BREAKING: Trump's Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt just said: “The government can and will collect defaulted federal student loan debt by withholding tax refunds, federal pensions, and even their wages.”

All of that for nothing and eggs are still expensive as fukk which was part of your dumbass reasoning in the first place for voting for Toupee Fiasco.

@Jshet05
Hey borrowed money. They should pay it back. If they don’t pay it back other lenders should know about it.

@groove_sdc
Kinda like overseas bank accounts, tax avoidance and insider trading? Shouldn’t we know about that as well? Or do these rules not apply to rich folks who borrow money without paying it back ALL THE DAMN TIME.

│ For the millionth time I’ve had to watch a bunch of spoiled children throw a tantrum because “steps in the right direction” aren’t “a perfect and immediate solution” so we all have to suffer through an even worst outcome.

│ And it’s going to keep happening.

Reminder: Because I know its coming from the slacktivists and ultra-progressions. Biden did genuinely try to cancel student loan debt and through multiple cases taken up by the supreme court they ruled he was unable to issue a blanket ban, we'd need congress for that. He believes in checks and balances AS OUR LEADERS SHOULD and continued to try and find a way around the ruling to do so legally.

In total he managed to get over 183 billion dollars of debt forgiven.

Ain't do shyt for me, my debts already been paid but i'm happy as hell for those that got it. Sleepy Joe was pretty good for the american people.

Biden's SAVE plan was fantastic, I thought it was such a good compromise, and if I had that option when I went to college I would've saved so much money and they probably would've been paid off already, and we can't even get that. Crazy shyt.
