Surprised to not see a thread.

10 part series from Amblin. Based off the 1959 novel.

Just peeped the first ep.

Right up my alley.

Getting good reviews from critics too.

Moreso a "family drama with scares" as one review headline pointed out so adjust expectations accordingly.

Who else remembers seeing the 1999 version with Famke Jammessn and Taye Diggs, Chris Kattan? My friends and I were dying to see that one lol

I can't remember my first reaction, the marketing was so good, and just GOING to the movies was so exciting as a 14 year old, I may have been unable to clearly see how terrible it was.

I'm really digging this. I just watched the first 3 eps.

It really made me think about my life and my family's as we grew up in haunted house.

I like how they all grew up and worked in related fields as adults.

Theo is by far my favorite character (both kid and adult). The adult version has kinda an Angelina Jolie vibe going on. Plus the rogue like glove thing is dope.

3rd ep was fire.

I wanna watch more, but I have a fukking wedding I have to attend :francis:

Not related. You're confusing it with the 1999 film The Haunting, which is a remake of the 1963 movie.

Ok, so the Shirley Jackson novel was inspiration for both the original "The Haunting", and the remake in 1999, and the Netflix series, but not, the 1959 Vincent Price movie, or the 1999 remake.

I usually don't get caught in those, thanks for the help.
