  • Operation Eagle Claw (1980): Delta Force was tasked with rescuing American hostages held in Tehran, Iran. However, the mission was aborted due to mechanical failures and a helicopter crash, resulting in the loss of eight American lives.
  • Sudan Hostage Rescue (1983): Delta Force operators provided advice and support to Sudanese commandos who successfully rescued five Western hostages, including two Americans, from a rebel-held camp.
  • Operation Gothic Serpent (1993): Delta Force members were deployed alongside U.S. Army Rangers in Mogadishu, Somalia, to capture high-value targets. The mission was compromised when two helicopters were shot down, leading to an intense 18-hour battle and the deaths of several Delta Force operators.
  • Operation Anaconda (2002): Delta Force participated in this operation in Afghanistan, which aimed to clear the Shahikot Valley of Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters. The force was involved in planning and direct action phases.
  • Operation Red Dawn (2003): Delta Force assisted in the capture of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The operation involved a meticulous search and surveillance of Hussein’s hiding place.
  • Operation Black Swan (2014): Delta Force was involved in the capture of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, a notorious Mexican drug lord. The operation was a joint effort with Mexican forces.
  • Operation Kayla Mueller (2019): Delta Force conducted a raid in Syria that resulted in the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State. The operation was successful in eliminating a high-value terrorist target.

MACV-SOG

Operation Tailwind (September 1970) involved a raid into Laos to disrupt North Vietnamese Army (NVA) operations and gather intelligence. SOG teams, supported by Montagnard troops and air assets, engaged enemy forces and recovered valuable intelligence materials.

Salem House operations (later renamed Daniel Boone) were conducted from 1967-1972 along the Cambodian border. These involved reconnaissance missions to gather intelligence on the Ho Chi Minh Trail and identify NVA supply routes. One notable mission discovered a major NVA headquarters complex.

Operation Thunderhead (1972) was a maritime operation involving Navy SEALs and SOG personnel attempting to recover American POWs believed to be escaping from North Vietnam. Though ultimately unsuccessful, it demonstrated SOG's diverse operational capabilities.

Nickel Steel missions involved cross-border operations into Laos to install and maintain wiretaps and sensors along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. These missions provided crucial intelligence on enemy movements.

Breh, the more I do research into these things, we've lowkey been involved in A LOT of American covert/secret ops since at least Vietnam.

My dad was a ranger so I know we out there but I didn't know we were a lil deep like that:skip:
shyt there’s Action Jackson who got killed in a parachute accident one of many that plagued SOF a couple of years ago years ago.

There’s at least one more Breh that was pictured in Syria a couple of years ago.
