That's a solid side step of the question by Posey, but I don't buy it for a second.

That's a convenient excuse, because if Posey really was against the whole thing in the first place, he isn't gonna air that out in the media. This type of stuff gets handled inside the clubhouse. If his teammates believed that answer for a second, they'd all think he was a gigantic p*ssy.

Addressing your displeasure to the media with stuff like this almost never happens, even though Pedroia did something similar last month with Machado, that was the exception not the rule.

Maybe I'm wrong and Posey was just concerned about injury :yeshrug: but I highly doubt it. If that was the case, he'd still step in front of Bryce to try to calm it before it even escalated, feel me?
I personally think Strickland knew he was doing this for some time and even gave his teammates the heads up and news went around the league he was doing this and it got back to Harper, which is why he flipped out like that and also why Posey didn't get involved because he was told not to do anything that petty by other people including Posey. :yeshrug:

Nah, I doubt any word got back to Harper. He and everyone that knows baseball knew that the plunking was intentional, and most likely stemmed from 3-year old homeruns

Funny how baseball continues to have fights and never face any backlash :mjpls:

the argument, fairly or unfairly, is that fights in the NBA changed when ron artest went into the stands.

but yeah. the double standards in baseball and hockey need to be addressed. and the fighting isnt even the main issue. the real problem is a grown man can take it upon himself to aim a 99 mph fastball at another human being over a byline in some imaginary book of standards. with minimal consequences. how u allow this to continue to happen, but ban silly shyt like how runners slide into second base, i dont know...

Next time Strickland faces him, he needs to throw a knee high fastball on the outside corner on the first pitch. Then when people think its back to business, come back with a fastball to Bryce's lower back

No the problem is they demonize fights that occur in black dominated sports such as football and basketball. And Ron wasn't the first to go into the stands and fight fans. It was done in baseball first years before

Seeing Jeff Samardzjia take that hit reminds me of him playing Wide Receiver at Notre Dame.

He could have been a good NFL reciever but he stuck with the right sport cause MLB out here giving him $120 million Contracts.
hed be a TE, he wouldnt be a WR. and hes getting guap out here that even Gronk isnt getting, when it comes to guarantees.

Poseys response was a combination of not wanting to get injured AND imo strickland is an a$$hole. posey shook off his pitch twice. I dont think posey or a lot of his teammates were down with beaning the dude for hitting homeruns off meatballs THREE years ago. it wasnt just posey. crawford was also like meh.

Salvador Perez did the same shyt last year when Yordano Ventura threw at Manny Machado and he rushed the mound. These batters aint trying to be the next one up getting hit because these pitchers can't control their fragile emotions. Bryce Gawd was right to go out there because that was some ho shyt.

Bryce didn't even take a punch, he got hit with an open hand left when Strickland was trying to gather himeself but other than that, I didn't see anything land. Those fights are only good if other people get involved but at least we got some swings out of this one.
