Wait...he's probably worth what like 20 billion dollars? This isn't outrageous as was previously reported. In the description it says she was an executive and a lawyer for him and he built it from the ground up. That is not a position that you can sleep on. She was actually entitled to half of that fortune and he got off easy. This isn't like she was just laying at home on the couch, she actually helped him build that business.

I don't think she helped him "build [his] business". Reuters reports "Sue Ann Hamm, 56, has held key posts at Continental. She has led oil-industry trade groups in Oklahoma, testified to Congress on behalf of Continental and created Continental's oil and gas marketing units." She was initially hired as an employee and during her employment they struck up a relationship. I highly doubt her contributions during her time at the company is worth $10 billion. The heads of the wealthiest corporations and hedge funds don't even earn that much.

Even if she did contribute in some significant way, I don't know of any position where you and the company part ways and you're awarded half of the CEO's fortune for your contributions.

And as I understand it, the amount she is to be awarded isn't even based on her individual contributions to the company.
