I was defending this nikka in that D-Wade/LeBron thread but this is just sad. His own coach gotta beg him to take half court heaves but he don't wanna to protect his shooting %.

Y! SPORTS

Here’s Durant, from Daily Thunder:

“It depends on what I’m shooting from the field. First quarter if I’m 4-for-4, I let it go. Third quarter if I’m like 10-for-16, or 10-for-17, I might let it go. But if I’m like 8-for-19, I’m going to go ahead and dribble one more second and let that buzzer go off and then throw it up there. So it depends on how the game’s going.” :what:

“We talked about it, about seven weeks ago maybe, couple months ago, and we talked about it,” Brooks said. “I said ‘We have to shoot that shot. There’s still time in the game — shoot it.’ The only time we don’t shoot it is if we’re up and it’s the last seconds because you don’t want to do that. :to:

“We had that talk and somebody on our team did not take it that same night, and then we all got on him,” he said. “The next night, somebody made that shot.”

As both Trey Kerby at The Basketball Jones and Brett Pollakoff at Pro Basketball Talk pointed out, the Best Attitude Award went to Russell Westbrook:

“No. Nope … If I was considering about [statistics] I’d do a lot of s*** different.” :youngsabo:

You know Kobe don't give a shyt. nikka be hoisting up any shot he can. To hell with the shooting percentages. :childplease:

Durant has a loser mentality. What kind of chump goes out to Akron to work out with Bron after he just served you in the playoffs and had you crying in your mommy and daddys arms?

Durant is OKC's best player but Westbrook is what makes them what they are

KD would be George Gervin 2.0 for real without Young Sabo

What's wrong with what he said :what:

:why: u kiddin right?

end of the 3rd quarter.....ur team down/up (doesn't really matter) and you choose NOT to shoot the half court heave that could be 3 potential points that could help your team win......just because you care about your INDIVIDUAL numbers

that my friend is grade A selfishness......nikkas talk bout Westbrook being selfish but dude just wants to win.......Durant is being mad selfish if he refuses to shoot half court heaves that could potentially alter the game because of his INDIVIDUAL numbers

if you can't get that then your an idiot

one of the reasons why soccer is one of my favorite sports

there are basically no stats but goals in that sport and the greatness of a player is not measured by how many goals they score but by their impact in playing the game

I just wanna know when did fg% become such a big deal? Growing up in the early 00s, when me and my friends used to argue at lunch about who was better between Shaq and Duncan or T-Mac and Kobe, I don't ever remember nikkas reciting fg% numbers. Most of the arguments would be about who had the better post moves or crossover.

It gotta the rise of the internet and being able to look up any stat at any time that led to this. Cause back in the day, you were lucky to know who led the league in scoring let alone being able to have a side by side breakdown of all the stats for each player.

What's sad is if any of these guys even knew basic math, they would realize that in their ridiculously long careers (speaking about LeBron and Durant here), half-court heaves wouldn't even make the slightest impact on their FG%.

Honestly, we're talking less than a thousandth of a percentage here. shyt is disgusting. :comeon:
