That's kinda crazy tho. Imagine going from a paralegal in Oklahoma making 35k per year to becoming a boss making almost a million. :wow:




I think the only way the residency scheme would've worked for the govt is if it had stipulations that 70% or more of the profits must go to the resident, and be filed as taxed income for that resident, with regular audits of that resident.


Very few out-of-state business people would agree to such a lopsided deal. And for those who do agree, the intended effect of the law would still be realized when it makes native oklahomans get the vast majority of weed proceeds. As it was written originally, this lady only got 3000 from each contract when the companies themselves were taking hundreds of thousands from each contract which goes against the ethos of original law.
