People in general avoid each other in public. I'm this way. If I don't know you I'm not approaching you like that. Sometimes cuties smile and speak but it really isn't that serious. I assume folks have shyt to do same as me so I don't jump in folks' faces. And it's lame to do otherwise.

That’s true but to be fair, in my experience working in healthcare, the older MFs are some of the most mean and disrespectful people you could ever meet.
But that’s a whole other story.

I just left the grocery store. A black man came to my car and asked could he have my basket, which i knew was bullshyt off the jump. I said yeah, he takes the basket, and then asked me what I was cooking today...wtf.....this is the bullshyt that black men be on, all day, every day. Yall need to stop advising men to cold approach....

True. Yet respect isn't something that just happens. It has to be taught, reinforced by extended family and community members, AND earned consistently over time...or it's lost.
No "I'm getting mine" mentality is going to cover that.
