How would you define the "Church"?

Yo this is the shyt that legit kills me. In the Bible Christians supposedly started speaking other languages when they got the gift of tongues, but everybody speaking in tongues today blabbers some incomprehensible language completely unknown to anybody....and it all sounds the same

LMAO! Exactly. People dont even get that the gift of speaking in tongues means they'll be able to pick up the languages of the new lands they'll invade. Im just venting but im sure if you're black you have family members who are big on Christianity...i dont have an issue with it but sometimes they do the most with it.

The straw that broke the camels back was the other day and my moms wanted to pray with me. Ok cool. Then she started speaking in tongues..All i could do inside wasbecause i know that speaking in tongues shyt isnt real. It sounded like forced gibberish..To me there's some truth in the principles of religion but there is also a lot of propaganda

Naw the bible is the truth, but mainstream Christianity is BS, and your mom is possessed by a demon is shes "speaking in tongues". Speaking in tongues according the bible is "speaking another language" ... Your mama aint speaking latin or greek.. shes speaking "bhshahalmdgejavsdse"

I didnt want to put too much in the OP but i wanted to clarify something..I started reading up some some african spirituality and some teachingsof the NOI (not as a religion, just as a starting point on how to improve my social class) and what kills me is my fam tosses ALL of that to the bushes bc in their mind it's "blasphemy". Yet they will give their children Hebrew or Anglo-Saxon names, but laugh at anyone with an African name

There's a sticked thread w/a Farrakhan interview and he's been spitting some real shyt for years, but some people tune him out bc he's not a christianfukked up part about it is my parents and grandparents are so old they probably wont change..Imagine going 50+ years doing something one way then having someone try and show you a better way...chances are the old heads wont change

I have little patience anymore for tolerating shyt I dont agree with..

Believing in something is important, but Id rather we believed in ourselves rather than the will of a 2000 year old dead Jew or Arab who lived in the stone age.

shyt is fukking fairy tales..I refused to buy the humpty dumpty story as a toddler, and I sure as shyt wont be fooled as an adult.

The Church was instrumental in the liberation struggle, but it has failed to reform with the times and is virtually outdated to most youth. Plus the church is full of women, men arent going to church in numbers like females do.
