Old heads: Why didn't other games graphics look like "Dragon Lairs"?

Was I the only one who wondered that as kid? Joint was like playing a cartoon. Never understood why other arcade games didn't look like that.

Space Ace did

they were laserdisc games. basically a bunch of quicktime events. even back then it was clear that made for rather shallow gameplay

Technically it wasn't really gameplay. It was a choose your own adventure cartoon so there wasn't any real time rendering to be done, it was a bunch of strung together cut scenes.

Children are better at twitch reaction type games than adults for the most part
My friends son is 4yrs and got like 10million in Temple Run
When I was younger, games like Battletoads was simple to me
NES games period, you try playing them today? You gotta have reflexes like a cat bruh

Game was like $1.25 to play though

It was 50cent where I would play it, and that was because every other game was 25cents
A local Pizza-Hut had it with the sitdown version of Ms.Pacman
