nah it was real outrage. video games were percieved as something for children so it's easy to see why a game like MK caused as much controversy as it did.

Mortal Kombat was the main reason why video games started to received ratings. They was the first to show blood and introduce fatalities (Had to put a code in to do both in the original).

My parents never used to take MK seriously when I was a kid, the old games were too cartoony. But with this new one even I feel like a psychopath doing some of these fatalities
