I feel really bad for the younger generation. They have no morals and are incredibly rude for no reason at all. However, the the older men(age 38+) at my workplace are much more polite and you can have a meaningful conversation with them, that doesn't consist of Justin Bieber, Niki Minaj, or who they are going to "bang" when they get off from work. I feel like an elderly woman trapped in a 30 year old body. Most don't realize how offensive their words are.

Thank-You,

Georgia

What kinda thread is this? Why would a 40-year-old be talking about Nicki Minaj or Justin Bieber? Them NOT talking about teen celebrities isn't impressive.

And all of these kids that are disrespectful today will probably end up mannerable in their old age. Except the ones from New York.

Capitalism...When business people realized that a materialistic culture and sex are more profitable, that became the messaging point in a majority of the movies, tv shows, commercials, ect.

So as a society, material goods and sex appeal have been seen as tools to gain status or success (aka popularity). The 38+yr old crowd were raised in a society that put a premium on values, principles, and character. So that is what people in that time focused their energies on when they wanted to be respected in society.

Because, today, materials things are the road to respect people focus all their energy on acquiring material goods, flashing money, or sex appeal...and they ignore character, values, and principles. Because people with character aren't always popular but people with money/look sexy are more often popular.

It's called growing up.It's a thing we humans do.

Im pretty sure the people in that generation didn't behave the way the kids in our generation behave. Kids curse in front of adults without even blinking. They act out, disrespect them.

I was driving down the street and I get to a red light, I look across the street and there were a group of kids physically assaulting a grown man while he waited at the bus stop.

They weren't hurting him as much as they were disrespecting him (grabbing those free news papers and throwing it at him. rolling up some newspapers, hittin' him with it and running...it was shameful.

Are you kidding me? Kids have for the most part ALWAYS been out of control.

Hell, the generation you were just praising were selling CRACK COCAINE to their neighbors when they were teenagers.

Good point. For some reason when I think 38+ I still think about the people who grew up in the 50's 60's...I forget that Im getting older so 40 years old isn't as old as I used to think it was.

Damn, you're right tho, them nikkas that's 38 were the kids during the crack generation.

Okay, well, the old generation I'm thinking about are the ones that grew up 50's, 60's, and parts of the 70's.

You guys make good points. I think I will have to re-evaluate my thoughts on the older generation. It wasn't completely bad but probably not as good as I thought it was.
