Oldhead Battlefield players, are there alternatives left?

Tried playing Battlefield 5 again this weekend was bored out of my mind. What I loved about the OG games was commander mode + squads dedicated to team wins. BF5 tried to go back to its roots, but it's still falling flat, no real commander, bad/no communications, no hardcore mode anymore.

I don't game like I used to but I'm about done with the franchise. Anyone know of games out there with that OG Battlefield game play?

BFV came out broken

Showed my girl BF1943 last weekend & she love it til wake island come up

They should’ve made another bad company or Vietnam this shyt is boring now

All the good or innovative/ inventive war games are on PC

BF1 was some heat to me and some of my funnest gaming experiences last gen. But yes BF4 still lit right now. BFV I don’t like much at all.

Man I fired it up again last week, made me hate BF5 even more They tried to capture the old spirit but damn I can't stand not having hardcore mode. BF5 you sneak up on someone and unload 10 rounds they turn around and shotgun you

It’s on early access on PC. It will most likely be ported to consoles since they found a publisher.
