On 2nd viewing Boardwalk Empire was not that good a show

i think it would have been better with a slower build up like the sopranos.

Season 4 was one of the best seasons of TV I've seen so I can't co-sign on it falling off. They redeemed themselves with that season, but then they fukked it all up when they skipped 7 years ahead from S4 to S5.



That's what sucked.

It had a lot stupid time wasting episodes and scenes. Margaret had way too much screen time.So did Jimmys mom.Too many stories had screen time that didn't match the payoff. You notice it more now when you can binge watch the seasons. The Gip Rossetti season is the best one because he always kept something happening. I wonder how the story would have turned out if Jimmy didn't force the producers to get rid of him by being a unruly a$$hole

One of my favorite shows.

Just gonna throw out there that the dialogue is what made it for me. The actions was never bad, but I've rarely enjoyed watching actors talk like this. It's a mix between the old time hospitality and general disliking some of them had for each other, just barely slighting and disrespecting but just so casually. For that, stays in my top 5.

Season five was trash tho, you can tell the creators or HBO was pushing it out the door, even still, spin offs could have happened. Kennedy, lucky, capone, all can carry on to the next.

That show's spinoff potential was through the roof. Everything from Chicago to the emergence of the Italian Mafia... just had so much.
