"Where hip hop lives"
I listened to some of that shyt. Their playlist is basically:
-Post To Be
-BBHMM
-some corny French Montana song I've never heard before
-Wet Dreamz
-Commas
-Earned It
-Trap Queen
-My Way
-Blessings
-a Kid Ink song
look at all that hip hop yall
You can tell they're desperate when their justification for this is ALWAYS about metrics. They're so afraid of listeners changing the dial to Power 105 that they've decided to play the "most popular" 10-12 songs over and over each hour.
Most people already have their favorite songs on their iPhone/Android, they listen to that shyt all the time...why the fukk would they tune into the radio and want to hear those songs 4 times in an hour? Why not branch out, find other shyt. Why not go back to the people and let them decide what you play (within reason...I'm not saying if ten people call up for Canibus at 3PM they should play that, obviously).
It's amazing how contemporary pop and rap radio are. Just as you won't hear an "old" Lady Gaga record on pop radio today, you won't hear a 3-4 yo "old" Jay or even Drake record. The format is cannibalizing its music, making it fast food.
