I forgot just how "hard" (pause) this album was. I'm listening to N*ggaz4Life right now and man, this album is really hard to listen too because at this point N.W.A. had become a parody or shells of their former selves. Their wasn't any balance of creativity on this album. The level of shock value was so over the top that it sounds like a bunch of ridiculous a$$ skits. The production was on point like a motherf*cker, but the lyrics were :aicmon::why::rudy:

N.W.A as a group begins and ends with Straight Outta Compton for me. Anything after that and without Cube is not N.W.A. as far as I'm concerned.

Totally agree. The only joint i liked was 'dayz of wayback' initially and 'rather fukk you' on some funny eazy e shyt. it took me like 5 years to "get" that album and i still don't love it.

Man, could you imagine if Cube would've still been with those cats and if he rhymed over those beats?! :damn::whew:

I actually didn't like the beats. that early g funk shyt sounded too Cali and corny to me. it wasn't until Chronic dropped, which i didn't like either at first, that i got indoctrinated into g funk and was able to go back and appreciate it more.

i liked Cube's beats waaaaaaay better.

Wow, really?

See, I'm a Parliament Funkadelic and Funk head, so the G Funk beats and production were excellent to me.

But I enjoyed and appreciated The Squad's production work with Cube too.

I still fukked with them.

Ren wasn't Cube, but he was at his best then. And Dre had some ridiculous shyt on nikkazfalife. The production on that joint was potent. Definitely would've been better with Cube. We all know that, but that album was serious.

Ice Cube leaving (BWA, should have been Blacks wit Attitude) was one of the best moves in Hip hop ever. BWA's first album was classic in large part thanks to Cube's presence but after that it was never the same.

Cube joining forces with PE on the East coast changed the landscape of hip hop permantly

shyt like 'Automobile' was corny though. And Just Don't Bite it was already on 100 Miles...or Was it 'She Swallowed It'? it just seemed like it was a lot of cartoon killing and blowjob material. they stopped being shocking and got campy.

I always thought that was obvious. Notice with Cube, NWA were more about giving White America the finger and shed light on the ills that blacks had to suffer in LA around that time (racist police officers for example). That's what made songs like "fukk The Police" all the more powerful, NWA spoke on shyt that was happening in a very straightforward, and shocking way.

All of that left with Cube. EFIL4ZZAGGIN was just over the top ignorance.

Agreed :salute:

It was the best move Cube could make too. Him linking up with Public Enemy was a perfect match.
