I've been messing with it for the last couple of months. I learned all the touch gestures, keyboard shortcuts (love using the keys since I'm always on PuTTy anyway), and secrets.

There are still a lot of flaws (Two Chromes, Mail Client, CPU heating due to Metro Apps, no communication between Metro/Desktop,...) but I like it. Extremely fast. Programs running smoother. Synced up everything on Start Screen (calendars, contacts, fb, twitter). Using the gestures and keyboard shortcuts is where it's at though. Make the transition a lot quicker.

I like it friends. Once it gets tweaked it's going to be a problem.

Be warned though: Learning curve is steep, especially if you don't fukk with computers outside of using the internet and MS office.

Once you get it down, it is :noah: status.

I went through Google on Windows 8

It installs a metro version and desktop version, that can't communicate with one another (yet). User setttings are all fukked up.

Blame Google more than MS.
oh i have a Chrome icon on the start screen but it always switched to the desktop Chrome. i been trying to figure out how to get that different looking IE10 to come back. my IE10 looks like Windows 7's version not the black one.

Did you uninstall it or did you unpin it? If you unpinned it, just search under apps and pin it back.

Hey friends, also a heads up: Check up to see if you're laptop or desktop can handle the upgrade. There are a lot of driver issues out there, especially involving switchable graphics, gpu and audio drivers. Try to install the Release preview on a partition to verify it.

what's you setup. you mentioned putty are you using it for linux. i only had windows to use excel and other office apps for my last job but now i don't have to anymore and the machine i had it on i about to get rid of so i'm about to fade away from windows and use linux completely but it depends on how windows 8 is i might play around with it.

I use PuTTy to do UNIX work from Windows. I also had an Ubuntu partition.

I thought Windows 7 was the best OS I ever used, but Windows 8 improves on it (Desktop) but it is the RT that you need to get used to.
