I been a wale fan since "Dig Dug", "Cause I'm African", and "Nike Boots". Pretty Girls = top 10 GOAT summer track. I woulda bought Attention Deficit & Gifted but he let the hype ride too long on pretty girls without droppin AD, and with gifted my head was elsewhere. Almost didn't buy Ambition cause he ain't put "Tats on my arm" on it, and my copy didn't have "bait" on it. Bought TAAN though off "body", "white shoes" and "girls on drugs".
I bought Big Sean's first two albums, didn't buy DSP cause i woulda just been buying shyt just to be buying shyt. I might still get it though.
Kendrick is a given. Bought GKMC and TPAB. Might have to get section 80.
J.Cole bought sideline story, didn't buy born sinner cause i didn't like the special edition cover and i needed those songs. Didn't get hype enough about FHD during the release to shell out $$$ for it, woulda been buyin it just to be buyin it
I'm a fan of the above's careers. I wanna see where they go. I've been listening to drake since Little Brother's "Don't you have a man", and as time has gone on my interest has waned. Drake's subject matter is too vapid; I gotta feel the music. And the feeling you think you're getting from Drake's music isn't actually coming from him, it's coming from the RnB classics being sampled by Noah "40" Shebib or whatever producer's beat he picks. It's a magic trick. The crazy part is I can vibe to his instrumentals, they fit my mood. But as an artist he's not really sayin shyt
