You're acting like people didn't travel long distances by boat or train before diesel fuel was discovered. shyts used to be powered by steam and coal and wind. I not only still have the wind, but solar panels in the sails and an electric motor to supplement it. Seattle to Mexico City wouldn't be a problem in this.
