I wouldn't put it that way, lol. But if you have ever had to deal with a crack/dope addiction through a family member, then you know how that shyt can have a nikka trapped. Also, a lot of people can't understand how an environment and childhood can shape somebody into the person they are today. Some people don't give credence to the "product of your environment" excuse, but anyone who has grown up in or has witnessed a truly fukked up environment has to understand how that can play a huge role in your life. Some peopled are more strong minded/willed than others, so the have little sympathy for those who are not as mentally tough as them.

DMX has a lot of issues/demons and is a complicated/flawed man. I can definitely "feel his pain", but at the same time, he needs to get his shyt together. He's too smart and talented to let crack take over his life. He's basically a full time smoker at this point
