OP ability to delete posts

Do y'all think it's feasible to put an option in where the OP can delete posts, at least in the Higher Learning section? It's annoying when you start a thread for a specific purpose, and it essentially gets hijacked for nonsense and off-topic discussion. I know this shouldn't be abused, so users should have a right to contest a deletion, but it would ultimately be up to a mod to reinstate the post or not.
