I recently watched this movie for the first time and I thought it was great.

You go in and out of feeling sympathy for Childers and Rommie Lee.

You could absolutely see America telling soldiers to do what they did in Yemen, and then use them as scape goats once the public opinion is not favoring.

I did read some reviews about it when it first came out and critics accused it of being racist and anti-muslim.

I definitely see how it could be viewed that way, but I wonder if this movie came out post 9/11 and after the general public's awareness of terrorism would it still be seen that way?

8/10.
