I'm gonna say it plain:

fukk Oprah Winfrey.
Russ may very well be guilty. After all, one could conclude he fled the country over a guilty conscience. When he first was accused publicly, he started a hashtag: #NotMe, which was not a good look in today's climate.
But Oprah's presence in this matter, and again using Sundance as the stage is SICKENING.
The directors are Kirby dikk and Amy Ziering. These two made a similar film, The Hunting Ground, about rape culture at Florida State University (guess who was a focus of this film...

)
The producer of THAT film, Amy Herdy, sent out emails trying to solicit interviews for the film. Those emails said the film was, and I quote, "very much in the corner of advocacy for victims, so there
would be no insensitive questions or the need to get the perpetrator's side."
Herdy went on to say in the emails, that she intended for the alleged perpetrator (

) to "get complacent because then we will ambush him."
If any of this sounds familiar, it should.
It should also be noted, that the original intent of this film was to point out such abuses in Hollywood. No one wanted to go on the record. They had issues securing funding, until after the Weinstein matter arose, and Impact Partners (who also funded The Hunting Ground) signed on. The pivot toward the music industry was made later.
Imagine the bullshyt that could be coming from that serpent in advance of this film. Imagine the attempts to shoehorn a certain other hitpiece to which she's attached into the discussion.
I don't need to imagine Oprah's reluctance to point out a bad actor that's white and powerful, since at least one of them (David Geffen) is a friend.
Oprah only turned around on the Exonerated 5 because her friend Ava made a film about them and she could

her way back into the good graces of the public. Before that she was all up in the ass crack of Linda Fairstein.
Complete silence on R. Kelly, even after the documentaries, and that's a layup. Fayle's CBS interview doesn't count.
Whenever Black people are on the short end of the stick, she's nowhere to be found.
fukk Oprah.

She puts the "c00n" in "tyc00n".
